I practice as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA), in North Carolina (License #A17266). Before joining Horizon Wellness Services, I completed 30 years of public-school service. I received a Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama in 2008. To broaden experiences beyond the school setting, coursework through UWA’s Master of Arts Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and an extended clinical internship were completed.
I provide therapy tailored to the individual needs of clients. I believe successful treatment is rooted in a warm, supportive, and trusting relationship where I utilize an open minded and non-judgmental attitude to gain understanding. I serve as a partner with clients throughout the counseling process as we work together to explore thoughts, feelings, values, and behaviors and the impact these are having on relationships and life satisfaction. My theoretical approach involves integrating Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior- Informed Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.

Typically, I offer individual counseling to clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stressful life changes, family concerns, school-based concerns and those who seek assistance in the areas of self-awareness and problem solving.
